The 3800 was removed from service and replaced with a 3900 in January 2002.

The IBM 3800 Model 6 Laser Printer is attached to the IBM 7060 Enterprise Server and is driven by OS/390 (MVS). (It can be accessed through MVS by other systems on the network. The 3800 printer has a throughput of 134 pages per minute and has a resolution of 240 dots per inch.

The 3800 went into service early in 1988.
