You can ask Mr. Lexicon to check the spelling of a word against his store of American English spellings. He will give his opinion and suggest alternative spellings. (His delicate sensibilities prevent him from recognizing some words. You know the ones we mean!) Note that your browser must support forms to work with Mr. Lexicon.
Mr. Lexicon uses Aspell, an open source spelling checker. He originally used the University of Kentucky VM/CMS Spelling Checker and Corrector (available from the VM Workshop Tools).
